Housing Advice Service - Introduction

It's harder for people with learning disabilities or families where someone has a learning disability to get advice about the best sort of housing for them.

It's even harder, in a place like Brent, where there is great housing need, to make sure that these people actually get the right kind of housing as quickly as possible.

Our Specialist Housing Advice Service

Our housing advice worker provides information about the different types of housing that are available, from social housing, shared ownership, private renting to supported housing.

We support people with filling in the forms right, getting the necessary reports done, and chasing up decisions.

We make sure that Brent Council is aware of the types of housing people with learning disabilities need.

We also help write the different housing plans Brent Council has to have, making sure they include what people with learning disabilities and their carers have said.
